Lushair Wins 4th in TechRound’s MedTech38 Awards

GENPULSE’s flagship AI scalp-diagnostic device, Lushair, today announced it has placed 4th in TechRound’s MedTech38 2025 list, which recognises the 38 most innovative medtech companies of the year. This achievement highlights Lushair's rapid rise as a leader in AI-powered scalp diagnostics.

Selected from a highly competitive pool of entrants, Lushair was shortlisted for its breakthrough integration of AI, medical imaging, and user-friendly hardware in delivering fast, accurate scalp assessments. Spearheaded by founder Fiona Bao, who launched GENPULSE in 2023 at the National University of Singapore’s incubator, the venture drew from her bio-engineering background and personal experience with hair loss. Through partnerships with the National Skin Centre and over 200 salons worldwide, the company compiled a dataset exceeding 30,000 annotated scalp images to train its clinically robust AI model. 

Lushair’s Scalp Explorer device, introduced in Singapore in April 2024, leverages dual-scan capture—a quick “selfie” scan paired with a dermatoscopic scan—to evaluate sixteen vital metrics such as follicle density, oil balance, redness, damage state, and follicular characteristics, all within approximately four seconds. The solution garnered early traction across the Asia-Pacific region and began receiving orders from the United States shortly after launch, driving month-over-month growth and early revenue success.
